Smart cities

In the coming decades, new technologies will transform many cities into smart cities. The first pilot projects are achieving excellent results in the utilization of existing resources and energy efficiency, and the trend which multi-million cities will have to follow is already evident.
Today, New York has a metro line that can support 26 trains per hour as opposed to the previous maximum number of 15, owing to digitalization. In our region, Vienna has managed to increase public transport usage from 28 to 39 percent thanks to its new eco-friendly buses.
Presentations of new infrastructure and communal solutions at the Summit will show the projects and methodology that the cities of central and eastern Europe have prepared in order to follow global trends.
